Hello Emily! It was so great meeting you and discussing a gentle way to get more into makeup for you! I’ve summarized the process below and linked products and options for you. Let me know if you have more questions or if I missed anything!

Brow: We used just a clear gel on your brows. I really like the one I used on you specifically, and I think it’s a great deal. The NYX Brow Glue. They also make this product in shades, if you want to try that in the future. A little goes a long way!

Primer: We used the Too Faced Hangover Rx Replenishing Primer on you. However, this is a more affordable option The Skin Quench by Milani.

Foundation: While I used my airbrush foundation on you, I recommend the one I use daily. The Maybelline Super Stay Skin Tint. I would guess you’re somewhere around the shades 112 or 118, but honestly, this is a very sheer product, so you don’t have to hit a perfect match for it to still work for you. I would hold up a couple bottles at the store to your wrist, or I can help you with this if we do a second appointment! The illuminator I like most for mixing into foundations to give you that sheer glowy finish, is the L’Oreal Lumi Glotion. I would get the shade Fair for you. You can play around with what ratio you like best for coverage and glow, but I usually start around 50/50. My favorite sponges to apply foundation with are the Paw Paw ones from Amazon. Just don’t forget to get them wet and squeeze all the water out, before using. They should grow in size and feel much fluffier!

Concealer: I used the Tarte Shape tape on you (shade 22N should work well), and applied it first with either a finger or brush to get the product on, then blended out with the same sponge as above. Remember, focus on small layers just where the discoloration actually is, and if you can avoid putting to much near any fine lines, that will help you not emphasize them. Here is another great concealer that I love that is more affordable, by Maybelline.

Powder: I used a fancy one on you that is technically great, but it’s stupid expensive. I don’t even use it on myself daily, lol. The Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Finish powder, shade Fair 1. I personally like this powder from Maybelline and like how it performs at a better price! Just remember, kind of like with the concealer, start with a small amount of product and build up. You can always add more!

Bronzer: I really like this one from e.l.f.. It’s easy to blend and work with, and not too incredibly pigmented where you will be scared it will leave streaks lol. Very affordable and has a great undertone. Remember, we used this in the hollows of your cheeks, around your jawline, forehead, hairline, etc; wherever the sun might naturally kiss your cheeks. You don’t want to just contour and not put it anywhere else on the face, or else it will look fake. We also used this to gently create some dimension in the outer crease of your eyelids, in a very subtle way.

Blush: We used the Milani Luminoso Blush which I truly always recommend to everyone. It is affordable, so natural looking, not too pink and can be used on your eyes as well as a lid color.

Highlighter: I used the MAC Soft N Gentle Highlighter on you but truly this one is just as great. We added this with a soft brush to your cheekbones where it was smoothest. We also added a touch in the inner corner to brighten up your eyes up a bit. I put some on the center of your lid with my ring finger to create a little more dimension in your eyes and make them appear larger and brighter. Lastly, we added the residual bit left over onto the edge of your cupid’s bow to emphasize. Remember, highlighter should only create a textural difference, not necessarily add color (i.e. more noticeable when you move in the light).

Eyes Primer: I used the Mac Paint pot in Soft Ochre to conceal and prime your eyelids. This way, the products we add for dimension, show up a little more true to themselves. However, a concealer can do just as great of a job, if you don’t want to buy another product.

Setting Spray: I used the Morphe setting spray to hold everything in place for the duration of your day, but also to bring a more skin like appearance back to the skin. Reduce the “Makeup” look. I really love this one for not only the product, but the way it continuously applies when you press the button.

Other Tips to Remember:

  • Try applying your foundation or primers, right after you finish your skincare.

  • Practice these tips and new products at night, when you are about to wash your face, so you can remove the pressure of it looking good!

  • Double cleansing is always important when you’re wearing makeup. You don’t have to use two different products for it. You just want to make sure you are doing a cleanse to remove the makeup first, and then a second one to actually clean the skin.
