Here is a breakdown of some of the products and techniques we talked about in your 1 on 1 makeup lesson!

Helpful Things to Remember:

  • It’s best to try new products or techniques when you are about to wash your face at night. This way there is no pressure to make it look good the first time and you won’t be in a rush.

  • Try removing your makeup earlier in the evening before you normally would. I like to do it when I change into my comfy clothes before dinner. This way you are less likely to skip it, like you would be before bed. haha

  • There is no right or wrong way to do makeup. There are ways that can be easier for us than other ways, but if a certain brush works differently than it’s labeled to be used, that’s ok! Makeup is about trying and finding what works best for you.

  • The realistic routine that you actually use is always better than the routine that has tons of steps.

L’Oreal True Match Lum Glotion in shade Light: This is the liquid highlight product we talked about using in multiple ways:

  • BB Cream: If you want to mix it in with your BB cream to add a little extra glow you can. This might sheer out the coverage more though, so I would put it on by itself before your BB cream.

  • Dermablend Coverage cream: This is what we mixed it with during the lesson so that you could get a little more coverage, but with a more natural look. Remember, your fingers are really helpful to apply this with because the cream product benefits from the warmth of your finger tips. When we applied it we did a light bit everywhere, and a little extra (2nd layer) in the areas where you had some redness to be covered.

  • Alone: You can also use it alone as a highlighting product, after you put your base foundation product on. We focused it on the high points of the face (cheekbones, inner corner of the eye, center of the eyelid).

NYX Micro Brow Pencil in shade Grey

  • In my opinion, this type of product (skinny pencil) is the easiest product to learn how to fill your brows in. The harder you push, the darker the product will apply.

  • Remember to start towards the middle of your brow and use short hairlike strokes to mimic the look of hairs.

  • If you put too much product in the front of your brows, they will start to look fake.

  • The opposite end of the pencil has a spooky brush which is great for using before and after you fill them in. You can brush through the brows at the beginning to get a better idea of the shape you will be creating. Afterwards, if you brush through again, you can soften the look of the pencil you filled in.

Benefit Cosmetics Dallas Rosy Bronze Blush

  • This is the blush/bronzer powder we used to add a little color back into your cheeks that wasn’t too red. It has that brown undertone too it so that it looks very natural.

  • Remember to swipe this up on the cheeks towards your hairline so that you are creating the appearance of lifted cheeks.
