Highlighter:
I mentioned the Physician’s Formula Butter Highlighter in Champagne as my top recommendation. It is great to apply with your fingers and blends really nicely into the skin. I also love the staying power on it. The rose gold one that I always mention is the MAC Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Superb. The do offer other shades of this one, so a shade lighter than Superb would be great too!
Bronzer:
The bronzer we talked about by Physician’s Formula is the Butter Bronzer. I would probably go for the shade ‘Bronzer’. But they do have a couple of different shades if you’d like to go for one of those.
Eyeshadow:
My favorite eyeshadow brand is Juvia’s Place. The Nubian Eyeshadow Palette and The Nudes Eyeshadow Palette are the two that I showed you during our call. I also use The Warrior Eyeshadow Palette A LOT on my clients. I think I’ve already gone through 3 of these palettes. I do prefer to ‘wet’ my brush before using any metallic or shimmer shades because I find that this helps the eyeshadow apply smoother and stay on longer. To try this, you can use the Morphe Setting Mist mentioned below. Just give your eyeshadow brush a quick spritz with the spray so it is lightly damp, then dip into the eyeshadow shade and work it into the brush. You should notice that it becomes more of a cream-like consistency and will feel a little wet when applying.
Setting Spray:
Again, the one that we discussed is the Morphe Continuous Setting Mist. Remember to spray when you are done with everything but mascara and lashes, because you don’t want to get your mascara wet and squeeze your eyes. Tip: If you do ever accidentally get mascara on your face, resist the temptation to remove it immediately. Let it dry and then you can flick it off with a dry Q-tip. You cannot feel it on your skin once it is dried.
Concealer:
The one that I mentioned linking was the Glossier Stretch Concealer. I love it because it’s hydrating and easy to blend out. I would always make sure to set it with an eyeshadow about the same shade as your skin tone, if using on the eyelids because it might want to crease otherwise.
Moisturizer:
The moisturizer that I love that is simple and great is Weleda Skin Food. They make the original heavier, thicker formula, which is more like a balm that you have to warm up a little in your hands. The newer Skin Food Light is just that; a lighter version that is similar but more like a lotion. If you’re wanting to try out both to see which you like better, it might be worth it to just get both in this kit because I do love the heavier one on my body in extra dry patches.
Eyelashes:
These are some of my favorite lashes to use on brides that are more on the natural side. My recommendation for lash glue is the Duo Brush-On Lash Glue. It’s helpful to have the brush-on aspect to apply directly on lashes. This avoids applying too much glue which can make it harder to apply lashes because it gets everywhere, or takes forever to get tacky.
Andrea 53’s (I like that the band is really tiny and easy to apply)
Ardell Demi Whispies (These are a little more dramatic but nothing too crazy; they are great for length on the outer corner of your eyes).
Tips for applying fake lashes:
Practice with some cheap ones from Amazon. A kit like this might be fun from Amazon, so that you can test out different shapes.
Try applying the lashes without glue first, so you can get used to where to apply them and getting comfortable holding them.
Try cutting a false lash in half and only applying that to the outer half of your eye, the first couple of times, as it’s easier to figure out. Once you feel like you’ve mastered that you can apply a whole strip.
Remember, lash glue and tears don’t mix well and can make it hard for your glue to dry.
Order of lashes: first waterproof mascara, then apply lashes. Once everything is dried well, you can curl your lashes and the false lashes together. If wanting to make the fake lashes look a little more realistic, you can add a little mascara at the end to the tips.
Extra Tips:
Practice anything new to you at night before bed so there is no pressure to do a good job.
My favorite mascara that I have been using on all of my clients for YEARS is the Loreal Voluminous Waterproof Mascara.
Please let me know if you have ANY questions. I look forward to seeing how beautiful you are going to be on your wedding day!
Best,
Andrea
